Successful job market candidates! We congratulate our job market candidates Pia Pinger and Ina Drepper who have found positions as assistant professors (tenure track) at the Universities of Bonn and Tilburg.

In one of his latest studies, Gerard van den Berg examines the economic consequences of one of the most traumatic events parents can experience: the death of a child. He finds long-term effects on the bereaved parents' economic situation and health. Annette Bergemann, together with Mårten Palme (Stockholm University) and Erik Grönqvist (Institute for Evaluation of Labor Market and Education Policy (IFAU)), has been awarded SEK 300.000 (app. 35.000 Euro) by way of an IFAU research grant to study the effects of unemployment on criminality on the individual level. The team will analyze both, if layoffs of individuals affect the risk of displaying criminal behavior and if active labor market policy prevents youth criminality.
